On 6th April, Practice staff, ther families, friends and canine companions will take on a challenging 15-kilometre walk in support of the Teesdale and Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team.
You can help us support this worthwhile cause by making a donation on our Just Giving page here. Alternately you can collect a sponsorship form from any of our Practice sites, or you can text ‘BBPF91 £3’ to 70070 to add £3 to our total.
As one of our chosen charities, TWSMRT have specially chosen our route, known as the ‘Meeting of the Grains’ – where the North and South Grain join to form Ayhope Beck.
Teesdale and Weardale Search and Mountain Rescue Team operates 24 hours per day every day of the year. They provide a search and rescue service for the whole of County Durham, from the high fells in the West to the coastal communities of the North Sea.
TWSMRT are staffed solely by volunteers and rely on donations, grants, charitable trusts and sponsorship to keep going. Every year they respond to between 40 and 50 requests by the police to a range of incidents, from injured or lost people in the hills to vulnerable missing people in urban settings.
You never know when a walk on the local fells might turn into something more challenging which is why we’re raising vital funds for the Teesdale and Weardale Search & Mountain Rescue Team!
We have set ourselves a target to raise £1,500 with this walk. We hope you will considered making a donation to help us hit out target, and help TWSMRT continue the vital work they do across Weardale and beyond.
Sponsorship forms are available in all practice sites if you would like to sponsor the team or an individual.
