Read the latest news from the practice

Flu vaccines for people aged 50-64 are now available from the Weardale Practice.

If you are in this age group you can now book an online appointment in one of our dedicated flu clinics – these are currently scheduled for 14, 21 and 30 December and 11th January. We will be contacting all eligible patients in the coming days, however you do not need to wait to be contacted.

The clinic will be by appointment only, so please do not turn up without having booked a time slot with us.

It’s also important to note that this vaccine is for people aged 50-64 who are otherwise healthy. If you are in this age bracket and have a long term condition, then you will already have been invited to be vaccinated. You do not need to be vaccinated twice.

What you need to know

We ask you to do a few things to help the clinics run smoothly and safely

  • The clinics are by appointment only. Please do not come if you have not booked an appointment.
  • Masks or face coverings need to be worn at all times. All staff will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Please do not arrive before your appointment time.
  • Parking is available at Stanhope Health Centre.

About getting Vaccinated

In previous years, people in this age group have not been eligible for free NHS flu jabs unless they had pre-existing health conditions.

This year, with COVID-19 adding extra pressure to the NHS, more people can get a routine vaccination. It’s important as many people as possible take up this opportunity to protect themselves, those around them, and the health service.

As well as the clinic during December, we will also be offering vaccinations for 50-64 year during routine appointments.

To book your appointment, please visit our practice website at or ring 01388 528555 (please be aware our telephone lines are very busy and booking online is the easiest option). If you are not yet signed up for online services then please contact the practice to arrange.
