Cervical Screening Awareness Week 15-21st June 2020

Initially during the pandemic cervical screening services were paused for a short time. Cervical screening is up and running again and we would encourage anyone whose smear is due to attend for this vital screening service.

We know that cervical screening isn’t always easy and coronavirus might have made it more complicated.  We also know screening can be uncomfortable or difficult, for a variety of reasons. If you find attending screening difficult, please ring our Lead Practice Nurse Marie for an understanding chat.

Changes to the process due to Coronavirus:

  • You will be asked to wear a mask when you attend your appointment
  • The nurse will be wearing PPE: Gloves, mask, apron and may / may not be wearing a face visor.
  • Results may take slightly longer due to the added pressures on the laboratories.

DON’T LET CORONAVIRUS IMPACT ON YOUR HEALTH AS WELL AS YOUR WORK AND SOCIAL LIFE. YOU ARE TOO IMPORTANT, CERVICAL SCREENING SAVES LIVES.
