The Learning Disability Network are supporting the NHS to increase flu vaccination uptake in patients with Learning Disabilities
People with a learning disability are dying 22 years sooner than that of the general population
Nationally 24% of avoidable deaths were due to respiratory conditions
Regionally 44% of deaths in people with a learning disability were due to respiratory conditions
Flu vaccines save lives and reduce respiratory related hospital admissions and avoidable deaths.
We are excited to introduce you to our new initiative, the Flu Vaccination Local Links Model. This innovative approach aims to increase the uptake of the flu vaccination in people with a learning disability, their families and carers and social care staff working in day services.
