Posted on:

The Weardale Practice are recruiting for an Assistant Practice Manager. If you are interested in applying for this position – please apply online through the NHS jobsite: https://beta.jobs.nhs.uk/candidate/jobadvert/A2900-24-0000

The Assistant Practice Manager plays a key-role in the practice, supporting the Strategic Practice Manager in running the practice on a day-to-day basis.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will support all aspects of the day-to-day running of the practice, with an emphasis on answering more complex queries from patients and staff, complaints, building maintenance, management of incoming emails to the practice management team & IT systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to join general practice and work with both the clinical and non-clinical teams to improve patient outcomes and efficiency within the practice.

Working in primary care is a rewarding place to be but it is not for everyone. This is a purposeful job – one that needs commitment, empathy and a degree of selflessness. You also need to have excellent time-management skills and be able to prioritise (often multiple, conflicting) deadlines.

There is an emphasis on governance and CQC compliance which is balanced with proactive work such as improving patient access to the practice and supporting the wider practice team.

You need to have enthusiasm for compliance and business improvement; have a basic understanding of the complexities of the NHS; and appreciate the funding/resource constraints that we work within. You should also be proactive, well-organised, and have experience of using MS Office with excellent key-board skills.

You will be expected to develop relationships with colleagues in the practice, other NHS stakeholders and patients.

You should also be mindful that we have a responsibility to approximately 7150 patients to deliver a high-standard of patient care and that everything we do within the practice has an impact on patient outcomes.

A keen eye for detail, sense of humour, integrity and resilience is a must for the successful candidate

You will be based at Stanhope but will need to be able to travel to our branch-sites at Wolsingham and St John’s Chapel from time-to-time.

The position is approx 30 hours per week.

Monday 8am to 4pm

Tuesday or Wed 9am to 4pm

Thursday 8am to 4pm.

Friday 9am to 5pm

Salary is dependent on experience.
