In April 2016, we implemented the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS). This has mainly affected our Stanhope and Wolsingham Surgeries.
What will this mean for you?
If you currently collect your repeat prescription from us, you will no longer have to visit the surgery to pick up your paper prescription. Instead, your GP will be able to send it electronically to the place you choose (a pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor if you use one).
If you wish to use this NHS service you will need to choose where you would like us to electronically send your prescription to (once EPS is implemented). This is called nomination. Before our ‘go live’ date of 18th April 2016, you will be able to set your nomination with your preferred pharmacy. You will then be able to set, change or remove your nomination at any time either by telling us, or any pharmacy or dispensing appliance contractor that offers EPS.
(Please note – The Practice will not be writing to you about your nomination. If you do receive any correspondence regarding this, it will not be from us).
What if we currently dispense your medicines at St John’s Chapel Surgery?
We will continue to provide this service for you, exactly as we do now.
If you have any queries please ask our practice staff, your pharmacist, or visit www.hscic.gov.uk/epspatients
