Consultations are by appointment only and can be made in person at reception, over the telephone during opening hours, or online.
Routine appointments are normally of 10 minute duration and we would appreciate it if you can attend on time. Routine appointments can be either face to face or by telephone.
For urgent same day appointments you may be given an appointment with an Emergency Care Practitioner (ECP) who will be able to deal with your needs and prescribe any medication necessary.
The practice is always very busy taking telephone calls between 08:00 and 10:00, particularly on Mondays. If you need to request a routine appointment please wait until after 10:00.
Late Evening Surgery (Monday)
The Stanhope Surgery has an out of hours service between 6.30pm and 7.30pm for those who work. These appointments must be pre booked in advance.
After 6:00pm Monday to Friday call 111 for non emergencies and 999 for emergencies.
In a number of cases it might be worth considering an appointment with a practice nurse rather than a doctor. Practice nurses are qualified to deal with many ailments and you may be seen more quickly.
If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else. If you do not attend your appointment and have not informed the practice; your appointment in your record will be marked as a did not attend (DNA).
