Women`s health
Contraception - Emergency contraception is available from the surgery – please make an appointment to see the GP on the same day. The practice nurses are also available to give confidential advice on contraception during surgery hours.

Acupuncture
Minor surgery - Removal of moles and skin lesions. If you need minor surgery here at the practice, please arrange an appointment with Dr Rowley, Dr Hackett, Dr Lumb, Dr Dendle, Dr Rowan or Dr Fielder.
Pain management
Adult vaccinations - A number of vaccinations are available via the surgery including tetanus, rubella and those required for foreign travel.
Flu vaccinations - Flu vaccinations are available during October & November, particularly to patients, and carers for patients who are aged over 65 or at risk from heart, chest, diabetes and age related conditions. Please see posters or ask a member of staff for more information.
Check For Life (otherwise known as NHS Health Check)- This is eligible for 40 years and plus. Patients who are on medication for blood pressure & cholestrol are not eligible.
Practice based Counselling service
Practice based Physiotherapy: The Muscular skeletal physiotherapy service at The Weardale Practice is provided by Weardale physiotherapy – an independent physiotherapy service staffed by Suzy Cramb and Claire Mitchel who between them have over 35 years of experience. Suzy and Claire use many techniques to help keep you active and comfortable including exercises, mobilisation, acupuncture and electrotherapy.
